Rare WW2 German Mauser K98 1941 dated Stamped 'Mauserwerke A.G. Oberndorf A.N.
Fabulous rare German Mauser K98 dated 1941 manufactured in the Mauser Factory with 2 large Hitler Eagles with superb clear Swastikas. Serial No. G4096. This is a German manufactured K98 made by Mauser Oberndorf in 1941 for the Portuguese Army, however once the Germans got to the G prefix they had to stop sending rifles to Portugal because of the need to send them to the German Soldiers on the Eastern Front. It would have been used at the Battles of Stalingrad or Kursk. This weapon would then have been captured by the Russians in the field and kept in their War Reserves until being imported by us. This weapon has been held in a Private Collection for many years and this is the first time it has been offered for sale.

Rare WW2 1941 dated Mauser K98 Manufacture Code 'BNZ'
Fabulous 1941 dated K98 manufactured by skilled labour from the Mauthausen-Gusen Concentration Camp. German Gestapo SS, headed by Heinrich Himmler built the infamous Mauthausen-Gusen Concentration Camp in Austria, adjacent to the Stehr factory and set up a rifle assembly line. Using selected skilled labour from the Camp, in an attempt to keep up with the need for weapons, they began producing bnz marked Mauser K-98's for the German Army by late 1940. The bnz code was an attempt to conceal the source of the rifle. The bnz rifles were of superior quality, because fearing sabotage, the Gestapo SS imposed extraordinary quality control measures.
The bnz K98's were manufactured between 1940 - 1944.
The US 8th, 9th and 15th Army Special Forces put an end to this production in 1944.
This is a rare Collector's piece and will be available to send our deactivated next week.
